ABOUT JULES ABBOTT

A textile artist, quiltmaker and designer, I commenced my career over 30 years ago, having done classes whilst living in Houston, Texas and in France.

I now live & work on my contemporary textile art in my home studio in Adelaide, South Australia.

Family, friends, textiles, gardens, travel & art in that order are my passions, with travel & gardens providing inspiration & a wealth of design ideas.

I like to look at quilts in a painterly way, & currently work in the medium of stitched art quilts for the wall, at the same time having a great respect for traditional quilts, their geometry & design possibilities.

I teach throughout Australia and overseas, exhibit & take commissions.
